Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM BILL LALONDE On October 13, 2000 at the age of 84, Bill passed away. He is survived by his loving wife Stella of 58 years; daughter Marie and son-in-law Gerry Smith and also his son Richard. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Joey, Gerald and Robert Smith, Crystal, Curtis Lalonde and Candace Smerchansky. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and one sister. He is also survived by two sisters, Anita Albo and Yvette Baily. Bill worked 20 years for Canada National Cartage and 17 years for Manitoba Cartage (C.P.R.) Freight. When the company was sold, he was transferred to the new company Livingston Distribution where he was stock-keeper until he retired in 1981. He also served with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry from 1942 to 1945. Bill loved gardening at his summer home in Roseau River. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Marys Council, Winnipeg. Pallbearers will be his nephew Marcel Carriere, Kevin McKenna, Ron Trickett and his two grandsons, Joey Smith and Curtis Lalonde. Eulogy will be read by grandson Robert Smith. Viewing will take place at 10:30 a.m. prior to funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Parish, 778 Archibald St. on Saturday, October 21 with Father Ron. Leger officiating. Cremation to follow.
