EVA JONES Peacefully, on October 17, 2000, Eva Jones passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. Eva was predeceased by her husband Ron in 1994 and over the years, her brother Bill and sisters Nell, Stella, Ann and Mary, and wonderful friends Pat & Keith Huckle. Eva is survived by her loving family, Leslie (Bill), Rees (Pat), Ronalee and Rick (Mary) and grandchildren Fletcher (fiancee Suzanne) & Jay, Stefanie (fiance Niall), Jeremy and Cortney, Ainsley & Whitney. She is also survived by her sister Olga and a number of nieces and nephews. Mom had a heart attack on August 30 and never really recovered, enduring a very difficult six weeks until finally succumbing. Mom was born in The Pas on March 3, 1919. She & Ron were married in 1940 and raised their family in a loving household in Flin Flon, moving to Winnipeg in 1958. Although Mom never went back to Flin Flon, she always cherished the memory of the good times there with their good friends, in particular Lynn & Walt Cunningham. In Winnipeg, their social life centered around A.N.A.F., Unit 60 on Garry Street where they had great times with many great friends. Mom also befriended Art & Marilyn Thiessen who were much more than her landlord. Since Dads passing, Moms life totally revolved around her children and their spouses and her grandchildren, each of whom she loved equally and unequivocally. She was the perfect Gramma in every respect. In her later years, Ronalees many visits from Vancouver were very special for both of them. They enjoyed each others company immensely. Mom was a gentle lady of exceptional warmth and kindness. She loved to laugh and if she ever said an unkind word about anyone, none of us ever heard it. Even the family pets recognized Mom as being a special person. The family would like to thank Drs. Fong, Milner & Harding, and the exceptional staff in GA3 and GD3 at HSC for their compassionate care of Mom in her final days. At Moms request, a private family service will be held and her ashes will be laid to rest at St. Vital Cemetery beside Dad. If friends so desire, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8, would be appreciated. Thank you Mom Always Living in Our Hearts "Cool Gramma Rules" Good-Bye Mom. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
