BERTHA BUECHLER (nee DREWLO) Peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2000 at the Ashern Personal Care Home, Bertha Buechler, age 87 years of Ashern, MB. Bertha lived all her life in Ashern where she was very involved with the activities of the Grace Lutheran Church. She worked with home care and loved having people around her. Over the years her home was a haven for boarders. Bertha leaves to mourn her daughter Marilyn Stark (Lorne) of Winnipeg, MB; her son Doug Buechler (Jan) of Red Deer, AB; three granddaughters, Dawn Elliott (Don) of Iroquois Falls, ON, Kim Stark (Stewart Laing) of Jasper, AB, Rae Anne Wright (Aaron) of Olds, AB; one grandson David Buechler of Red Deer, AB; one great-granddaughter Calista Rae Wright; three brothers, Bill Drewlo (Phyllis) of Surrey, B.C., Ernie Drewlo (Blanche) of Saskatoon, SK and Harold Drewlo (Lorna) of North Battleford, SK; one sister Frieda Buchholz of Winnipeg; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Buechler in 1976, who was a founding member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Ashern. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Donna J. Smalley officiating. Interment to follow in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be nephews, Garry Buechler, Hank Kolthof, Cliff Audley, Glen Buchholz, Leonard Buchholz and Devon Buchholz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dawn Elliott, Rae Anne Wright, Kim Stark, David Buechler and Calista Wright. We, the family, wish to express our deep gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Ashern Personal Care Home. As an expression of sympathy, should friends so desire, donations in memory of Bertha may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in Ashern, or to a charity of ones choice.
