Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHELA CAROL ADAM Shela was born September 16, 1946, and died peacefully October 18, 2000. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Hurtig and her father Reinhold Adam. Shela is survived by her mother Martha Adam of Yorkton; sister Debra Cox and her husband Murray of Calgary; step-son Brent Hurtig and his wife Andrea Albi of San Francisco; step-daughter Marla Gottlieb and her son Zachary of Los Angeles; and many relatives in Saskatchewan. Shela was a courageous and compassionate person, with a zest for life. A consummate shopper, Shela had lifelong interests in fashion, tailoring, design, reading, and the culinary arts. She was a ball of energy with a strength, determination and sense of humour, which she brought to her relationships and career alike. Shelas career in office management included many years at Metropolitan Properties, and in both Winnipeg and Toronto often reflected her creative interests, including work in furs, audio-visual production, and most recently at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People. Shela absolutely loved childrens theatre and her work at MTYP, where she was instrumental in helping to achieve their goal of a new building. She was especially fond of Ron Burketts puppetry show "Old Friends". Shela was herself an "old friend" and is lovingly remembered and dearly thanked fT Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
