Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHARON PAULINE WESTMAN April 8, 1941 - October 16, 2000 After a short battle with ovarian cancer, Sharon passed away on October 16, 2000 in Panama City, Florida. She is survived by her husband Brigadier-General James Hunter; sister Tanis (Garry) Bannister, Guy and Paige; brother Dale (Jo-Anne), Jennifer and Jaclyn and brother Joel (Sandy), Christina, Vanessa, Andrew and Marissa. Sharon was a graduate of the University of Manitoba in the faculty of Pharmacy. She enjoyed working as a pharmacist and became the first travelling pharmacist in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. As a young single career girl, she built an A-frame cottage at Whytewold Beach. She enjoyed driving her 1962 Thunderbird. Her pharmacy career led her to work as a civilian for the Canadian Air Force in Portage La Prairie where she ultimately met her husband Jim. They were married December 17, 1982 in Winnipeg. They built their life around Jims career, living in Ottawa, Alabama, Edmonton, England, Prague, Winnipeg, Moose Jaw and Florida. They travelled through Europe, Thailand, Turkey, Egypt and Hawaii (Sharons favourite). Sharon was very talented at anything she turned her hand to. She could sew, embroider, crochet and knit. She was a potter. She painted watercolours. Her natural ability, grace, elegance and creativity shone through in the many houses she made into homes for her and Jim. Sharon was a wise, generous woman who gathered friends like squirrels gather acorns. Her extended family thought the world of her. Sharon was the best of daughters, the best of sisters, the best of aunts, the best of friends, the best of wives. Time To Say Good-bye. Our Hearts Are With You.
