FRIEDA OTTO 1913 - 2000 Our beloved mother, Frieda Mina Otto, passed away peacefully at the Beausejour Hospital surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 19, 2000, at the age of 87 years. She was the last surviving member of the family of Karl and Martha Neumann of Thalberg, Man. She was born in Thalberg on June 18, 1913. In 1934 she married Fred W. Otto who predeceased her in 1972. She was also predeceased by a son Clarence in 1989. Mom is survived by six sons, Gerald (Ella) of Winnipeg, Gordon (Joan), Ernest (Leona) and Vernon (Brenda), all of Thalberg, Arthur (Geraldine) and Lorne (Cindy) of Beausejour; also three daughters, Margaret (Bill) Black of Beausejour, Esther (Leslie) Kurbis of Dencross and Linda (Felix) Kuehn of Winnipeg; one daughter-in-law Beverly Otto of Lac du Bonnet; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was also a beloved "Auntie Frieda" to many nieces and nephews. Mom was a faithful lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Thalberg. It gave her great pleasure to sing with the church choir and to be involved with the Ladies Aid for many years. Her faith sustained her through good times and bad. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thalberg, with Pastor Arleen Berg officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her seven grandsons, Warren Otto, Reg Black, Kenneth Otto, Darren Otto, Brian Kurbis, Lyle Otto and Nathan Kuehn. Friends may view after the prayer service on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. If friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Thalberg, R.R.3, Beausejour, Man., ROE OCO.
