Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. IRENE DOERKSEN 1959 - 2000 Dr. Irene Doerksen, 41, of Chino Valley, died Wednesday, September 27, 2000, at St. Josephs Hospital in Phoenix. She was born February 16, 1959, in Altona, Manitoba, Canada to Abraham and Aganetha (Friesen) Doerksen. Irene Doerksen worked her way through college as a welder in the oil fields of Canada, and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1992. She was a veterinarian in Chino Valley for the last three years, working for Circle L Animal Clinic. Chino Valley residents and clients knew Dr. Doerksen for her compassion and warm heart. She was so loved by the community that a fund-raiser in her behalf raised more than $40,000 for her medical bills. Irene Doerksen attended Grace Baptist Church in Chino Valley. She enjoyed horseback riding with her daughter, and the time they had together. Surviving are her daughter, Marie of Chino Valley; parents, Abraham and Aganetha Doerksen of Altona, Manitoba; brothers, Edwin and Raymond of Manitoba and sister Virginia Abrams of Manitoba. Her brother, Albert, preceded her in death. A gathering of friends for a memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 29 at the Rhineland Pioneer Centre, 10th Ave. Altona.
