EVA AUGUSTA HAY (HILL) On October 17, 2000, at the Grace Hospital, Eva Hay, in her 90th year, departed this life to join her husband Buck, who predeceased her in June of 1972. She is survived by her daughter Carol, son-in-law Adrian, granddaughter Krista (Rob) and grandson Andrew; by her son Dan, daughter-in-law Elayne, grandson Stephen (Jennifer) and grandson Tyler; and her good friend Merle; also sisters, Annie of Erickson, Man., Edith of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Mabel of North Vancouver, Selma (George) of Vancouver, B.C.; sister-in-law Stella of Erickson, sister-in-law Maxine of Port Coquitlam, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States and Sweden. Eva was born in 1910 at Hilltop, Man., the second of ten children of Charlie and Emma Hill. She came to Winnipeg for business training at Success and worked as a bookkeeper. In 1939 she married Blair (Buck) Hay and they began a family in 1942. Many happy summers were spent at the cottage at Falcon Lake. A longtime resident of Ashburn Street and a member of the Thistle Ladies Curling Club, Eva lived for five years in the Arms of the Cross and, since February of this year, home was at Oakview Place. At Moms request cremation will take place and no service will be held. If family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Evas memory of the charity of your choice. We wish to thank the staff of Oakview Place and Grace Hospital for the care and comfort extended to our Mom and Grandma. "Grieve not my child, chase all thy fears away!" NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
