Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN HILDA WATERMAN It is with great sadness, that we the family, announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Hilda Waterman on October 20, 2000. Hilda died along side her niece Marie Toews. Hilda will be lovingly remembered by her four sons, Reg (Irene), Brad (Elaine), Ken (Cheryl), Craig (Shelley) 12 grandchildren, Melanie, Travis (Cherie), Jessica, Bobby, Cody, Dana, Kyle, Kira, Justin (Chas), Nicole, Dionne, Raquel; great-grandson Dylan; brothers, Henry (Margaret) Frederick, Buster Frederick; sisters, Lydia Schedler, Emma Waterman and numerous nieces and nephews and many special relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1967; sister Elsie Gering; brothers, Arthur and Ed Frederick. Hilda was born August 3, 1927 in Moosehorn, Man. At the age of 18 she left the family farm to be on her own. She worked at lumber camps as a cook before coming to live in Winnipeg. She had various jobs in the city but always spoke with fondness of her job at The Chocolate Shoppe. She met, fell in love and married her husband Bob in November, 1950. After living in various areas of the city they settled in the North End in 1960 where she resided until her passing. After the passing of Bob, she struggled to raise her four sons never wanting or asking for assistance. She worked tirelessly for 25 years at Bonar Packaging and retired in 1992. Following her retirement, she travelled with her sister Lydia to various parts of North America on bus tours. She enjoyed attending fall suppers, loved gardening and working in her flower beds, knitting afghans, baking, working on puzzles and reading. A constant source of pride and love were her children and grandchildren. She was always there when anyone needed her and she cherished the special times with each of her grandchildren. She especially loved family gatherings where she could be with her sons and their families. You will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. We love you and miss you. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. from Bardal Funeral Home. Our family would like to thank the Fire Department First Responders and the staff of Grace General Hospital. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Hildas name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street 774-7474
