FRANK JOHN WIMMER September 13, 1925 - October 21, 2000 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank Wimmer, beloved husband of Jeannine on Saturday, October 21, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital following a lengthy illness. In addition to his wife Jeannine, Frank leaves to mourn one daughter from a previous marriage Barbara Wimmer (Jane Chalmers) two step-children, Pam Carriere (Ariel Alhambra) and Garry Carriere; one special grandson Eric Carriere and sister Francis Goode, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother and sister Anne Ginter. Frank was employed with the City of Winnipeg Signals Department for 33 years and prior to that with Winnipeg Electric. He retired in 1990. An avid sportsman, Franks early career included playing with the St. Vital Bulldogs Football Club (a sport that would always remain closest to his heart). He was a proficient swimmer and scuba diving instructor and minor softball coach. Frank also enjoyed camping and fishing. Frank loved life and lived it to the fullest. Throughout his long illness he was always optimistic and cheerful. He will be sadly missed not only by his family but by his many friends and associates. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 25 at 1:30 p.m. from Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street. Viewing will commence one half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. A special thanks is extended to Ken and Ariel and Doug and Joyce Webber for all their support. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Chapter. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away. You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay. So when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. Love you. Green Acres Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. Ph. 222-3241.
