Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVYRNA FOSTER (nee JOYCE) On Saturday, October 21, 2000 at the Golden West Centennial Lodge, Vyrna Foster passed away at the age of 82. Vyrna was predeceased by her first husband, Herman Macartney, of Crystal City, Man., and her second husband, Barrett Foster of Huntsville, Alabama. Vyrna was born November 29, 1917 in Killarney, Man. to Arthur and Ethel Joyce. She attended school in Killarney and, upon graduation, moved to Winnipeg to attend the Winnipeg Bible School. Vyrna taught school for many years, her last years being at Royal School in Charleswood where she retired in 1987. She enjoyed music very much - teaching and playing piano, singing in the choir at Elim Chapel, and attending the Winnipeg Symphony concerts. Vyrna lived life to the fullest and was always full of laughter, smiles and energy. She loved to travel, visit friends, and attend family gatherings. A special thank you to the second and third floor staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their kindness and loving care to Vyrna. Vyrna is survived by numerous cousins and friends including Susan Mason, Mary Cassels and Iva Sanderson. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 26 at 3:00 p.m. at the Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd. in St. James with Major Daphne Maye officiating. Interment will take place at Killarney Cemetery on Monday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3G 4G2.
