Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN GUSHTA Peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2000 at Red River Place, Selkirk, John passed away 12 days before his 96th birthday. John will be sadly missed by his daughters, Frances (Peter) Skrepetz, Caroline Pruden; son Leslie (Sandy) grandchildren, Raymond, Christine and Donald Skrepetz, Lorraine (Ken) Sawatzky, Janet Skrepetz (Trevor Buhnai), Jim (Dawn) Pruden, Jay and Amber Gushta and great grandchild Nicole Pruden. Also surviving are brothers Mike, Victor and Albert; sisters Kay Plante, Helen Gorrell, Eva Chuhie, Jeanette and Valerie Manitowich. He was predeceased by his wife Lena in 1999; son-in-law John Pruden; brothers Adolf, Frank, Nick and Joe; sisters Mary Janeczko, Annie Skrepich, Rose Wychreschuk and Stella Gushta. John was born in the Mars District on November 3, 1904 and moved to Libau at a young age where he lived and farmed until retiring to Selkirk in 1992. He was an excellent carpenter and built many houses in the area. He was also a trustee for the Libau School District for a few years. Many thanks to the staff at Red River Place for their wonderful care of Dad. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, October 25, (tonight) at 7:00 P.M. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, East Selkirk, M.B. with Father Jerry Talarski officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
