NADINE MALCOLM On October 24, 2000 at the Grace Hospital, in the presence of her family, Nadine Malcolm passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Nadine was predeceased by her first husband George William Chidley in 1972 and her second husband Robert Milton Malcolm in 1981; her parents, Harold and Cora Lush and by her sister Marion Elder (William). Surviving are her brother Harold Lush (Rose) nieces, Coral Nadine Lombardi (Ben), April May Malcolm, Nancy Ann Drozdowski (Wayne) nephew Harold Elder (Elaine) as well as several great nieces, nephews and stepchildren. Nadine was employed by the Winnipeg School Division for 35 years. In 1947, she was transferred to the Psychology Department of the Child Guidance Clinic and eventually became Director of Special Education. During her long career she was active locally, nationally, and internationally in the Council for Exceptional Children and was instrumental in establishing the Manitoba Branch. She was also very active in music and volunteer work around Winnipeg, especially Save the Children Fund and the McKinnon Guild of the Childrens Hospital Foundation. She was a member of the University Womens Club, and the Manitoba Retired Teachers Association. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with Rev. Dr. Peter Denton of Deer Lodge United Church officiating. Interment and reception will follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the McKinnon Guild of the Childrens Hospital Foundation, 501-840 Sherbrook Street, R3A 1S1 or the Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Avenue, R3J 0L2. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to all the special nurses and doctors in ICU at the Grace Hospital.
