CAROL JOAN FREUND Peacefully, Carol Freund, aged 53 years, of Winnipeg, Man., passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, on Sunday, October 22, 2000. Carol will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her Mom, Helen Freund of Winnipeg; her brothers, Allan (Lorine) of Beausejour and Greg (Renata) of Winnipeg and her special friend, Gary McCowan of Calgary, Alta.; her brother-in-law Barry Gromnisky of Edmonton, Alta.; her nieces and nephews, Mark (Breanna) and Jason Freund, Craig and Lisa Gromnisky and Sandra and Sarah Freund and many relatives and friends. Carol was predeceased by her Dad William Freund in 1966 and her sister Sandra Gromnisky in 1986. Carol was born in Winnipeg, Man., on Monday, December 30, 1946. She grew up and went to school in the Dencross area. She was employed by Algoma Steel for 30 years first, in Winnipeg and later in Calgary. After her retirement from Algoma Steel, she returned to Winnipeg in 1999. In accordance with Carols wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., Winnipeg, Man. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Carols memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 2B7.
