ALFRED REW 1918 - 2000 With sadness we announce the passing of Alfred Rew on October 25, 2000, in his home. Fred was born April 19, 1918, in Semans, Saskatchewan. On January 1, 1940, he married his wife Helen and soon left to serve overseas with the Canadian Army in the Second World War. His working career included years with Fairbanks-Morse, Versatile Equipment and finally operating a drugstore delivery service in the St. James community where they have resided for almost fifty years. Predeceased by his son Larry and brother John; Fred leaves to mourn his wife Helen; daughter Linda (Don) Wikander; granddaughter Karyn (James) Hope; grandsons, Clinton and Douglas; brothers, George (Eileen) of Winnipeg and Reg (Alice) of Calgary; sisters-in-law, Lois and Emma; three nieces and one nephew. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 30, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. A reception will follow in Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Room ON 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., R3E 0V9.
