Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN JOSEPH SCHULTZ Peacefully on October 28, 2000 at the age of 86, John Schultz of Winnipeg Beach passed away at Johnson Memorial Gimili Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. John was predeceased by his first wife Rose in 1979 and his second wife Gertrude in 1996; his parents Wilhelm and Sophia Schultz; his sister Kate Neusch and his brother Bill Schultz. He will be fondly remembered by his children, Jim (Joan), Ken (Charlene), Elaine (Matt) and Jonathon (Adeline) grandchildren, Catherine (Curtis), Wendy (Ian), James (Cheryl), Sandra, Jesse, Craig and Cody; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Brett and Alisha; siblings Carrie, Sophie and Phil and numerous nieces, nephews, relative and friends. John was born February 7, 1914 and grew up in rural Saskatoon. He moved to Winnipeg Beach looking for work and began working for the C.P.R. He retired after 32 years of dedicated service in 1977. John loved working outside, riding his "tractor" and upkeeping his yard. He really enjoyed working with his hands and building things. Many family and friends have wooden crafts made especially for them by him. He always loved to have visitors and was sad to see them leave. "Grandpa" could always be counted on to give extra special attention to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John truly loved his family and friends and was always there in times of need. For this and so much more we are eternally grateful. A funeral service will be held at Winnipeg Beach United Church on Wednesday, November 1 at 1:00 p.m. A viewing is arranged one half hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Craig Skworchinski, Curtis Klos, James Harris, Buddy Kolodie, Grant Kolodie and Taylor Hoogstraten. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Reykdal, Bill MacIntyre and Frank Pidruchny. Special thank yous to Chris Reykdal and Taylor Hoogstraten for their friendship and care for John. The family would like to thank Dr. Wiesenthal and the staff at the Gimili Hospital for their care and concern for the welfare of John, it will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Johns memory to a charity of their choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
