Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN FREDERICK EARL Fred passed away quietly after a lengthy illness at the Deaf Centre Personal Care Unit, October 28, 2000. Fred had turned 79 years old the day before his passing. Fred was predeceased by his parents Pearl (nee Harrison) and Clifford Earl. His memory is cherished by his sisters, Hazel Hopkins, Thelma Hopkins (Laurie) and their children and grandchildren. Fred helped on the family farm and continued farming until retiring in Swan Lake, Man. He was a devoted son and cared for his parents during illnesses and aging. Fred spent many winters working at Stevensons Pharmacy in Swan Lake. He had a great love of aviation and its development. He attended many air shows and although blind he still continued to attend. Fred was fine student at school and university, and loved music, especially the piano. He was dedicated to his church and community. Fishing, skiing and curling were his hobbies as well as his camera and the natural surroundings he photographed. He was a gentle man, a helping friend and a great neighbour. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Deaf Centre Personal Care Unit for the kind and loving care they gave to our brother and uncle, Fred. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Deaf Centre, 285 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, Man., R3L 2E1 or a charity of your choice. Funeral service to celebrate the life of Fred Earl will be held in Swan Lake United Church, Wednesday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Bob Gilbert officiating. Pallbearers will be Angus Hopkins, David Chevalier, Andrew Hopkins, Clinton Worbanski, Brian Gutscher and Timothy Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Kay Campbell, Lorne Gutscher, Emile Haneca, Henry Stevenson and Grant Harrison.
