GLADYS SUSAN MARIE FIGUR (nee BASARABA) It with deep sadness the family of Gladys Figur announce her sudden passing on Thursday, October 26, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg. Gladys was born in Fisher Branch, Manitoba on March 25, 1950 and later she received her degree in teaching from the University of Manitoba, as she taught, children looked up to her with love and respect. Gladys loved to travel and had almost covered the whole globe in her lifetime. She was close to her nieces and nephews and had a compassionate nature which treated everyone as an individual. She met Hans Figur through the Springs of Living Water Church in 1995 and they married February 28, 1997. Gladys gave Hans a taste of the world by enjoying a honeymoon together in South Korea. They then returned to Winnipeg where she and Hans lived until her passing. She lived a full life and will be dearly missed by her husband Hans, her father and mother-in-law Emil and Erika Figur, her mother Mary, brother Ed and sisters, Irene and Joanne, many nieces, nephews and friends. Gladys was predeceased by her father Joseph in 1989. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 31 at 1:00 p.m. in the Springs of Living Water Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. With viewing one hour prior. Pastor Cam Fontaine and Lewis Vansteenkiste officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg. The family would like to thank all who helped Gladys during her illness. In lieu of flowers if so desired, donations may be made in her memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9.
