WILLIAM ARTHUR BERMEL February 7, 1922 - October 23, 2000 William Arthur of Kerrobert, SK., formerly of Winnipeg, MB passed away peacefully at Kerrobert Hospital. Arthur was born in Dodsland, SK to Joseph and Mary Bermel (Stark) one of 13 children. He received his education at Dodsland, SK and went on to become a school teacher. William Arthurs pride and joy was the years he served in the Air Force, May 12, 1951 - May 11, 1956. He was a very faithful Catholic and practiced his faith to the fullest. On May 17, 1952 Arthur married Viola Rose Longworth in Winnipeg, MB. To this union were born three children, Lawrence of Edmonton, AB, Patrick of Vancouver, BC and Janis of Winnipeg. Other places of residence were Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Denzil. Arthur was a member of the Manitoba Teachers Union, Saskatchewan Teachers Union and after his retirement a member of the St. James Seniors in Winnipeg. Arthur was predeceased by his wife Viola in March of 1992; parents, Joseph and Mary Bermel; his brothers, Louis, Al, Alphonse; sisters, Marie Doll, Sr. Hemma Bermel and a niece Susan Bermel. He is survived by sons, Lawrence, Patrick and daughter Janis; brothers, Rheinard, Mike and sisters, Theresa Cracker, Clara Finlayson and Evelyn Krupka. Also survived by four brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. At Arthurs wish, he was cremated and a memorial service was held in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Dodsland on Saturday, October 28 at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will also be held at Assiniboia Christian Centre John 23 Chapel, 3390 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB on Monday, November 6 at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Chartrand officiating. Interment of ashes will take place in Assumption Cemetery, Winnipeg. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Kindersley Community Funeral Home, Kindersley, SK.
