Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOPHIE MICHNOWICZ Peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2000, at the Holy Family Nursing Home, Sophie Michnowicz passed away. Sophie was born October 13, 1906, in Belarus and came to Canada in 1949. She was a hardworking devoted homemaker all her life. She was predeceased by her husband Nick of 72 years in 1995 and her daughter Tina in 1997. Sophie leaves to mourn her son Adam (Jadwiga) and daughters, Nina (Harry) and Janina (Valente) 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A special thank-you to all the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for their care and kindness. Prayers will be said on Thursday, November 2, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 3, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 643 Manitoba Ave., with Rev. Fr. Anatoly Melnyk officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. "Well miss you Baba." CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.

I wish I could have spoken with you more Baba, about the old country and how you grew up. I am so interested in learning, and wish to one day visit Belarus. I have come to learn there are many abandoned villages. I believe its up to the lineage to retain ancestry. I promise not to let our ways fade into nothingness, as the planet sees a resurgence of national pride. I know you & Geja are Angels now, and you watch over all of us.
