George was born in St. Jean Baptiste on June 18, 1940 and moved to Winnipeg during the flood of 1950. He married Doreen Watkins on March 21, 1964 and together they raised a family in St. Boniface. George received his diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from Red River Community College and was proud to retire in 1995 after 30 years at the University of Manitoba. Dad really enjoyed summers at Petersfield. He was more than just a handyman, he was someone that didnt know the meaning of "cant". He was forever doing what he did best; fixing anything and everything that could be fixed- from cars to can openers! Thanks for all your hard work Dad, we all learned something from you. In later years he also enjoyed new hobbies, like baking bread and cooking; but most of all Grandpa loved spending time with his grandchildren who were the light of his life and the twinkle in his eye. He loved to see their faces light up when hed take them to the park or slip them a treat from his pocket. Grandpa is now their very special guardian angel and will always be watching over them. Prayer Vigil will take place on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion Street.
