He had the privilege of living and working on the same farm on which he was born and raised. He took over the family farm to become the third generation on the century old homestead. Doug took great pride in his home, the crops and the livestock. Doug loved going for drives to see the countryside and enjoyed the company of his family, friends and relatives. Doug was always interested in community and church affairs. He served as a trustee of the Wellwood School District and participated in the Wellwood Community Club and the United Grain Growers Local. He was the treasurer of Wellwood Presbyterian Church for 33 years and latterly was an elder. He will be greatly missed by the people who knew him. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to all those people who have been so kind, generous and supportive during this time. Special thanks to the people who rendered assistance at the scene, the Carberry ambulance personnel, Dr. T.F. Beveridge, and the nursing staff for their excellent care and compassion.
