WINNIFRED JEAN McINNIS Winnifred Jean McInnis passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on Monday, October 30, 2000, with her family by her side. Winnifred was born in Grandview, Man., on February 10, 1914, the youngest of five daughters born to Angus and Mary Ann McInnis. She attended school in Grandview before moving to Winnipeg where she worked in domestic services for several years. She began working for the Canadian government in 1946 as switchboard operator at Deer Lodge Hospital until her retirement in 1978. She lived a full life and will be deeply missed by her sister Gertrude McInnis; her nephew Garwood Robb and his sons, Trevor and Lauren and their families; her nephew Bill Tweedy of Oakville, Ont.; her niece Carol Davision and family in Kelowna, B.C., and her friends and acquaintances. Winnifred was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Christina Robb, Margaret McGirr, Jessie Tweedy and longtime friend Bert Sewell. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Monsignor Maurice Comeault officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be Trevor Robb, Lauren Robb, Brian Brown, Jeff Sobie, Glenn Shymko and Neil Longmuir. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Grace Hospital, third floor, for their compassionate care, comfort and love during Winnifreds stay there. Heartfelt thanks to the many friends and relatives who have been so kind and supportive to both Gertrude and Garwood during this difficult time.
