JEANNETTE CORMIER (nee LAURIN) On October 31, 2000, at Tache Nursing Centre, in the presence of her family, Jeannette passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord. Jeannette was born February 28, 1909. She married Henri Cormier in 1933 and together they raised their family in La Salle, Manitoba. Jeannette was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending precious time with her family and friends. She loved playing cards, family gatherings, was an excellent cook whose kitchen was always open and everyone was welcomed with a smile and open arms into her home. Jeannette was an excellent seamstress all her life and enjoyed sewing and knitting for her family, and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will treasure the memories of her creations. She was a faithful member of St Boniface Cathedral, Dames de Ste. Annes and attended weekly prayer groups in the community, and she left a legacy of peace, love and deep faith to her family. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family, Roland Hudon, Germaine (Omer) Malo, Raymonde (Robert) Pelletier, Gerald (Doris) Cormier; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Her memory will also be cherished by her sisters, Antoinette Dumont, Alice Laurin and Aurore Cormier; sisters-in-law, Monique Laurin and Sr. Eva Cormier f.d.l.c. She was predeceased by her husband Henri in 1985, also infant son Leon in 1940; daughter Lucille Hudon in 1996; brothers, Hector, Jacques, Eugene Laurin and sister Albertine Marcoux. If friends so desire, donations in Jeannettes memory may be made to Tache Nursing Centre, 185 Despins Street, Winnipeg, Man., R2H 2B3. The family wish to express sincere thanks to 3DE and 5C at Tache Nursing Centre for all their loving care, compassion and kindness towards Jeannette and her family. Prayers will be said Wednesday (Tonight), November 1 at 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m. at St Boniface Cathedral, 190 avenue de la Cathedrale, with Msgr. Albert Frechette presiding. Viewing will be one half hour prior to the Service. Service will terminate at the Cathedral with cremation to follow.
