EDWARD WALTER "ED" KORNBERGER On Wednesday, November 1, 2000, Ed Kornberger passed away after a lengthy illness, at the Deer Lodge Centre. Ed was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Emil, Henry, John and Ray; and sisters, Min and Theresa. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jeanne; daughters, Doreen Sloate (John) and Valerie Feuillatre (Herve) five grandchildren, Isaac Lewis (Heather), Josh Lewis (Sue), Noah Lewis, Derrick Feuillatre, Marcy-Lynn Hudson (Barclay) five great-grandchildren, Carley, Jordan, Kyra, Morgan and Jonah; sister Emma and sister-in-law Esther. Ed was born on March 12, 1919, in Blueberry, Alta. He served overseas during the Second World War. Ed resided in Winnipeg for the past 40 years with his wife Jeanne. Ed was an active member of Norwood Legion #43. He served on the Executive Committee for a number of years. He was also president of the 65 Club. Ed was a member of the Heather Game & Fish Association and the Belgium Club. Well remember your laughter, your tears, you have always been there for us through the years. A constant in all our lives. You were at your happiest with your family by your side. We love you and well miss you. A celebration of Eds life will be held on Saturday, November 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, remembrances of Ed may be sent to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3J 0L3.
