Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM DARGE ORR Bill Orr, beloved husband of Daisy Orr, peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2000, at the age of 80. Left to cherish Bills memory are his loving family: wife Daisy; sons Robert (Margaret), Nicol (Judith) grandchildren, Teressa (Daniel), Kathie (James), Lorraine, Steven, Chad (Keli), Scott, older brother John (Margaret) and sister-in-law Jean, along with extended family members and many friends. Bill was predeceased by his first wife Rita in 1980 and his twin brother Robbie in 1999. Bill was born in Kilmaurs, Ayrshire in Scotland. He was very proud of his Scots heritage, and was an active member of the St. Andrews Society. He served in the British Army from 1939 to 1945, and upon coming to Canada in 1952 worked until his retirement for A. P. Green Limited. Bill was a man characterized by strong faith and a generous spirit. He enjoyed many years of fellowship at St. James Gospel Chapel and Assiniboia-Charleswood Community Church. He was active in many church programs, including Faith Bible Camp, Hilbre Bible Camp, the Boys Hobby Group, the Gun Club and Sunday School. Bill took a keen interest in young people, and was a dedicated mentor to many. In addition he had a particular interest in missionary work in Pakistan where his brother Robbie and sister-in-law Jean served. A bricklayer by trade, Bill developed an exceptional talent in the construction of brick or stone fireplaces and in the building of stone cairns and other similar projects. His handiwork can be seen throughout Manitoba and will continue for many years as memorials to his talent and generosity. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Lodge and the many friends who have cared, loved, supported and prayed. If friends so desire, donations in Bills memory may be made to Faith Bible Camp, P.O. Box 42059, 1881 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, R3J 3X7 or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3C 4G2. A celebration of Bills life will be held on Saturday, November 4, at 1:00 p.m. at the Assiniboia-Charleswood Community Church, 760 Charleswood Road, Winnipeg. Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Ronald Moffatt Memorial Services, 1-204-856-3487.
