DOREEN ELEANOR ZAMONSKY After a short, courageous battle with cancer, Doreen passed away at Neepawa Memorial Hospital on October 31, 2000. Doreen was a compassionate, hospitable and loving person who will be remembered for her many acts of kindness and friendship. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Her cheerful smile and willingness to give of herself will always be remembered. Doreen was a spirit-filled person who had a strong faith in God. It was her faith that carried her through the adversities in life. She was born on April 9, 1940. She met her husband Nick while working in Winnipeg. She was his constant companion working beside him at businesses they operated in Hodgson, Minnedosa and Erickson. Semi-retiring to Riding Mountain brought her a more relaxed way of life. She highly enjoyed and cherished the friendships she made in this community. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Nick; sons, Don (Debbie), Bob, Ken, John (Wendy) grandchildren, Lisa, Preston, Nicholas and Arianna; brothers, Norman (Grace), Len (Yvonne), Eddie (Ellaine) sisters, Marlene (Ron) Skokun and Geraldine (Ted) Michalchuk. She is also survived by sister-in-law Marge (Adam) Shewchuk and brother-in-law Russell Zamonsky. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Martha and Stanley Lewandoski and brother-in-law Joey Zamonsky. Pallbearers are brothers, Norman, Len and Eddie Lewandoski and friends, Joe Miscavish, Nestor Kostenchuk and Jack Graham. Prayers will be held at Whites Funeral Chapel, Neepawa on Friday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, November 4 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Dominics Roman Catholic Church in Neepawa, Man. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Choudhury; nurses, Pam and Janet in Winnipeg, Dr. Dekker, Father Yolando Gamallo and Mary Ellen Clark. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Neepawa Memorial Hospital who listened, cared and comforted Doreen in her final hours.
