FRANK CHUNYK Frank Chunyk passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31, 2000, at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 71 years. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory his wife Edith; a sister Dorothy Sorotta; nieces and nephews, Cathy of Winnipeg, Linda and Leslie of Vancouver, B.C.; Bill and Renee of Winnipeg; a great-niece and nephew, Jason and Crystal and great-great-niece Hannah Margaret, all of Winnipeg. Frank is also survived by numerous other relatives and dear friends. Frank worked for the City of Winnipeg as a heavy equipment operator for over 24 years. Following that he spent a few years with the Assiniboine Credit Union as an office manager before becoming an independent transport operator. Frank retired at the age of 62 due to health concerns. Frank will be remembered for his commitment to his family. His willingness to share his life experiences was one of the qualities that made him an outstanding role model. Frank found enjoyment sailing and boating in the Lake of the Woods area during the summer and downhill skiing in the winter. Frank was proud to say that he maintained sobriety for over 34 years as a member of the Tiger Group of Winnipeg. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 6, at 12:30 p.m. from Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Interment and reception to follow.
