ARTHUR (ART) WILLIAM BERRY After a brief battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur (Art) William Berry. Dad leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years Victoria (Vicki) children, Brenda (Jim) Carson, Janice Doerksen, Cindy (Gary) Sutherland and grandchildren, Jeff (Hali), Kevin (Kristin), Megan, Vicky (John), Leigh and Neil. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter (Jack) and Agnes Berry. Art was born in Winnipeg on July 8, 1924. He attended school in Elmwood where he met and later married Victoria Derpak in 1946. Dad served in the Navy during the Second World War and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion #9. He was employed at Swifts for 37 years until it closed and then at Burns for 10 years before retiring in 1989. He was a great family man with a zest for life. His passion was his family and golf. He spent many years on the greens with his buddies "The Dun Workin Duffers." Many summers were enjoyed with family and friends at Spruce Sands. The family would like to thank the staff at the Concordia Hospital for their kindness and support. A Memorial service to celebrate the life of Art Berry will be held on Monday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 9Z9. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
