Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL CHUDY Peacefully, after a lengthy illness on November 3, 2000, at the Concordia Hospital, with his wife at his side, Michael Chudy passed away at the age of 83 years. Michael will be lovingly remembered by wife of 38 years Lea (Gislina) daughter Kathy (Garry) Dupont; sons, Steve (Kristi) Chudy and Robert Alexander; grandchildren, Christopher, Adam Dupont, Barbara, Philippe, Tristen Chudy and Holly Alexander; sister Tillie and brother Peter (Irene) and many other family members. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Stefan (1961) and Anna (1959) sisters, Nellie (1955) and Mary (1988) and grandson Eric Dupont (1996) and numerous family members. Michael was born on January 1, 1917 in Fisher Branch, MB and grew up in Chatfield. He worked on the family homestead, for his immigrant parents who struggled to make a living amongst the spruce, swamp and stone of Manitobas interlake regions. In 1959 he moved to Winnipeg and met and married Lea Anderson. Michael worked in construction for Qualico and Manor Homes until his retirement in 1986. Michaels passion was his family and music. At a young age, he made his first violin which led to the passion for the instrument. He played with bands throughout his lifetime at parties and weddings with MTJOB Boys Ensemble, Midnight Echoes and others. During his retirement, he cherished his family and his relaxing violin sessions. He will be remembered as a giving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Concordia Hospital who skillfully and compassionately cared for Michael during his illness. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB with viewing one half hour prior to service time.
