Frank was born in Selkirk where he was raised and received his education. In 1942 he joined the army and served overseas from 1943 to 1946, seeing action in France then returning to Selkirk upon his discharge. With the exception of a short period in B.C. and a few years in Winnipeg, Frank was happy to move back to his "true home" of Selkirk in 1991. His love for his town was emphasized when he was transferred back to Selkirk Hospital after a lengthy stay in St. Boniface Hospital immediately requesting a glass of "Selkirk" water. Frank spent many years working in the offices of Crane Plumbing and Lyttle Supply of Winnipeg. Frank served on the executive of the Duke of Kent Legion Branch, 119 and was a current member of the Selkirk Legion, Branch 42, and a member of the Over 60 club. He was proud to receive his 45 year pin at the Selkirk Legion in April of this year, his last social outing. Franks family would like to extend their most heartfelt thanks to Drs. Wozny and Demsas, as well as all the staff of the medical ward of the Selkirk General Hospital for the warmth and caring manner in which Frank was looked after during his stay in the hospital, especially during his last few days. In keeping with Franks wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service in celebration of Franks life will be held on Tuesday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk with Legion Padre Peter Cain presiding.
