TATIANA (TINA) ZAZULA (nee KOSTIUK) Tatiana Zazula passed away on Monday, November 6, 2000 at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 77 years. Tatiana was born 1922 in the town of Koretz, Volyn, Ukraine. She received her education in Rivno and taught school from 1939-1944. In 1942 she married Osyp Zazula, and towards the end of the war, like millions of her countrymen, she was uprooted with her family as displaced persons to Germany. In 1950 they immigrated to Canada, finally settling in Winnipeg. Until her retirement, Tatiana was employed for 25 years at the Misericordia Hospital. She actively supported and belonged to organizations in the Ukrainian community such as Volyn Association, Institute Prosvita and its Seniors Club, Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre, and Ukrainian Canadian Congress. Tatiana also sang for a number of years in the S.U.M. Choir. She dedicated her life to her family, especially to the grandsons, whom she loved very much. Her son George predeceased her in 1995 and mourning him had a profoundly adverse effect upon her health. Tatiana leaves to mourn her husband Osyp (Joseph), to whom she was married for 58 years; daughter Alice (Lesia) and husband Benny Konowalchuk; grandsons, Glen (Cindy), Walter (Angela) and Andrew Konowalchuk of Winnipeg and James Zazula of Thunder Bay, as well as an extended family in Ukraine. Panakhyda will be sung 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Glen, Walter, Andrew and James, Walter Gubernachuk and Petro Shawarsky. In lieu of flowers, donations to Children of Chernobyl Canadian Fund, 1555 Bloor St., W., Toronto, ON M6P 1A5 would be appreciated. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
