Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ELLA CAMERON (nee Kilmury) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Cameron on Sunday, November 5, 2000 at Grace General Hospital in her 96th year. Mary is survived by her husband Allen and her daughters Verla (Rene) Verrier and Verna Esslemont and son Norval (Gwen) grandchildren, Murray (Susan) Cameron, Teri (Michael) Murphy, Cory, Cam (Gerri) and Eric Esslemont and great-grandchildren, Joey, Patrick and Rebecca Cameron and Conor Esslemont. She is also survived by her youngest sister Frieda (Bob) Robertson and numerous nieces and nephews whose visits brought great joy to her throughout the years. Mary was predeceased by an infant daughter Nevone in 1940 and two sons-in-law, Gerald Mitchell in 1962 and Roy Esslemont in 1989, as well as by her ten brothers and two sisters. Mary was born and raised in the District of Primrose, Man. She and Allen were married on November 24, 1926 and took up residence in Boissevain where they raised their children and resided until this year. Mary was very civic minded and active in the United Church (Womens Auxiliary, the UCW, played the organ and sang in the choir, served as a Board member and convened Fall suppers). She also served on the Hospital Board and taught sewing to 4H Members. Mary was an excellent seamstress and an avid gardener, who grew award winning flowers exhibited at Horticultural Fairs and also won many prizes for her Christmas window decorations. She took great delight in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, remembering birthdays and sharing her love and interests with them. In 1998, Mary and Allen left their home to reside at Westview Lodge and in February of this year they moved to Calvary Place Personal Care Home in Winnipeg. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the emergency and second floor medical and nursing staff of the Grace General Hospital. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, a donation in Marys memory may be made to a charity of choice. Following a private interment, a memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, November 10 at St. Pauls United Church in Boissevain. Arrangements in care of Killarney Funeral Service, 523-7791.
