Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNADETTE MARIE BALLANTYNE November 3, 1935-November 6, 2000 It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Bernadette Ballantyne, on the morning of November 6, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 65 years. She leaves to mourn in her passing and to cherish her memories her loving children; Ron Ballantyne (Yvonne), Marilyn Hall (Ivan), Gail Ledoux (Edward), Brian Ballantyne (Charlene), Brent Ballantyne (Carol) and Bernell Ballantyne (Cynthia) grandchildren, Roberta, Ryan, Kevin, Charmaine, Bernadine, Lenny, Shanna, Danielle, Bobby, Laurent, Justin, Lisa, Tyson, Mandy, Bradley, Carradine, Kristy, Tashina, Tyler, Jordon, Taylor, Nelson, Harley and Lorraine; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Shae-Lynn, Kevin Jr., Cailey and Skye; brothers, Charlie and William; sisters, Dora, Therese and Clara; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Solomon, her mother Marie, her father Moise, mother-in-law Harriet, father-in-law Alfred, brother Frank, brothers-in-law Percy and Howard. Bernadette was born on November 3, 1935 in St. Laurent, Manitoba. She was raised in Pine Bluff, Manitoba. Later she moved to The Pas. There she met her future husband Solomon Ballantyne from Grand Rapids. They enjoyed many happy years together. She was very fond of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and trapping along side her husband. She spent many peaceful moments at Gull Bay. Bernadette was an active volunteer in various organizations. She was the first woman Chief in Grand Rapids. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be lovingly remembered for her kind, gentle and humorous spirit. She will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her. Wake services will be held on November 8 and 9 in Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Catholic Church with Fr. Edward McSheffrey, OMI officiating. Interment to follow at the St. Johns Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are Kevin Ault, Ryan Ault, Doug Mayer, Bliss Lavallee, Nelson Mayer and David Lavallee. Honorary Pallbearers are her sons Ron, Brian, Brent and Bernell; sons-in-law Ivan and Edward; grandsons Laurent, Justin, Lenny, Bobby, Tyson and Bradley.
