OKEMA ACOBY Peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2000 at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, Hodgson, MB, Okema passed away at the age of 82 years, beloved husband of Joan Acoby. Left to mourn his passing and to cherish his loving memory are his wife Joan; five sons, Henry, Leonard, Leslie, Walter, and Elwood; eight daughters, Marion, Lorraine, Kathy, Yvonne, Charlotte, Florence, Frances, and Yvette; 34 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Margaret Acoby (nee Prince) one son Wayne in 1979; one grandson Terry in 1997, and by one sister Doreen. Traditional Wake will be conducted from the Swan Lake First Nations Traditional Hall, Swan Lake, MB on Thursday, November 9 at 4:00 p.m. Traditional funeral service will be conducted from the Swan Lake First Nations Traditional Hall, Swan Lake, on Friday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Indian Springs Cemetery.
