MARGARET "PEGGY ANN" HENRY (nee DOYLE) Peacefully, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, November 7, 2000, age 58 years, at St. Boniface Hospital, following a courageous year long battle with cancer. Peggy Ann will be lovingly remembered by her husband Dale; children, Debbie (Clarence) Shul, Randy (Terina) Henry and Susan Henry; grandchildren, Sarah, Adam, Kellen, Kyla, Christian and Brenna; brothers, Wayne (Louise), Hugh (Ann) and Douglas (Bonnie) Doyle; numerous nephews and nieces, and many dear friends, particularly her buddy Joan Templeton. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Alma Doyle. Peggy Ann was born and raised in Lampman Sask. She married Dale Henry in 1960, lived in Saskatoon and Montreal and eventually moved to Winnipeg in 1964. She worked for several years at the Hudson Bay Company. She dearly loved her riverside home in St. James, and was active in Bourkevale Community Centre. She enjoyed many good times in the ladies league at Deer Lodge Curling Club. Peggy Ann frequently entertained her family, friends and various senior citizen groups, particularly at Deer Lodge Centre, with her guitar and talented voice. Her favourite tunes were Irish lilts, reflective of her ethnic background and feisty character. She was always a popular performer around the campfire at the family cottage at Kenosee Lake in Saskatchewan. She also loved her winter home in Arizona, where she sang with a local choral group and generally relished the snowbird way of life. She was deeply disappointed to not be able to "go south" this year and see our many friends there. Peggy Anns greatest love was saved for her dear grandchildren, whom she cherished immensely. They provided a "new" purpose in her life. Her greatest disappointment, while recently facing death, was to miss being part of their growing up. In keeping with Peggy Anns wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13 at St. Anns Roman Catholic Church, 271 Hampton St., St. James, with Fr. R. Glofcheski officiating. Interment will be private at a later date. Appreciation is extended to Drs. Ralph Wong and Mark Taylor, and the staff at the St. Boniface CancerCare Centre for their high quality of personal caregiving. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 0V9 or a charity of your choice. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue 949 4872
