Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN A. THIESSEN On the morning of November 8, 2000, John A. Thiessen, beloved husband of Helen passed away while delivering Gideon Bibles. Along with his loving wife of 50 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Don (Wilma), Dorothy (Hans) Buller, Bertha (Larry) Wiebe, Carol Bell, Andy (Madeleine) grandchildren, Melissa, Lorelie, Nelson, Paul (Denice), Colleen, Lori, Steve, Joe, Anthony, Simon, Mandy, Alex and Lucas; three sisters, six brothers and their families. He was predeceased by his daughter Peggy and two brothers. John was born January 20, 1926 and was raised in Plum Coulee, Man. After attending Elim Bible School he married Helen Loewen on September 24, 1950 in Bergfeld, Man. John worked in construction for most of his life. He was greatly involved with The Gideons, Union Gospel Mission, prison ministry and many other church involvements. His family and friends will always remember him for his good natured personality, his special sense of humour, and his willingness to help anyone in need. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Annes Road with viewing prior to the service. Viewing and a devotional will be held Sunday, November 12 at 4:00 p.m. at Sterling Mennonite Fellowship, 1008 Dakota St. Interment in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
