CHRISTINA ANDERSON PAQUIN Peacefully, Christina Anderson Paquin, with her family at her side, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2000. Christina was born on September 27, 1920 and grew up in Glasgow, Scotland. As a young woman she enjoyed reading, ballroom dancing and took great pride in her contribution towards the war effort, working at the Rolls-Royce factory, where she helped to build Spitfires for the Royal Air Force. It was during the war when she met her husband Fern. In 1946 Christina immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada where she and Fern married and started a new life for themselves. Mum worked hard to ensure her family was always looked after, and for many years she worked at the neighbourhood drugstores - Chris Brown Drugstore, later Davis Pharmacy on the corner of Corydon and Daly, and then Neimans Pharmacy on Corydon and Wentworth. During her later years, Mum took great enjoyment in her trips to Glasgow, decorating her condo, crocheting, and baking shortbread, which she gave to almost everyone she came in contact with. Besides her husband Fern, Christina was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Annie Lawson; step-father Robert Smith Crawford; brothers, Ronald, Leonard and Alex (Mary) sister Dolly Murray and daughter-in-law Carole. Mum will be sadly missed by her two sons, Bob and girlfriend Laurie, Len and wife Connie; her dear grandchildren, Tyler (Alison) and Kelley, her friends, her brothers, John (Jean) and Jim (Margaret) sister Anne (John) Taylor; brother-in-law George Murray; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Irene, many nieces and nephews and her many other relatives in Scotland and Canada. Following cremation a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. The family would like to thank Rev. Ron Long, Fr. P. Morand and the staff on the 5th floor of the Victoria General Hospital for the care and compassion they extended to Mum during this difficult time. If friends wish, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, ON109 - 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. "Time changes many things, But love and memories ever cling." Well miss you always.
