KIM CAROLYN CHAMBERS Peacefully, after a six month struggle with an unknown illness, on November 9, 2000 at Health Sciences Centre, Kim Chambers, beloved wife of John, died at the age of 24 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by parents, Lynn (friend Neil) and Brian (friend Valerie) sister Holly; also aunts, uncles, cousins and many other friends. Also special feline friends, Elvis, Hunny, Winky and Mickey. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway with Rev. Nancy Sanders officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St. The family thanks the doctors and nurses at HSC for their dedication and their efforts for Kim. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.

I grew up with Kim in Gimli. She was the first girl in my life who was my friend. After several years at our cottages, I moved away in 1988, and we lost touch, however I never forgot her. For the past 15 years, I've been trying to find her to re-connect to say HI to both her and her sister, Holly. Today, my breath was taken away when I read that she had died 15 years ago. I made a movie in 2004 which was inspired by Kim. It was about her and I growing up, and I always wanted to share it with her. It won awards and is quite a special piece of work which would inspire people to tell me stories about their childhood as well. I was looking forward to the day where I'd be able to show it to her and laugh with her about it.
