Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN FREEMAN NICHOLSON It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Freeman Nicholson, on Thursday, November 9, 2000, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 77. John will be sadly missed by his loving wife Ruth of 56 years; daughter Carole (Wayne) Bell and son Bruce (Cindy) Nicholson; grandchildren, Michael and Ryan (Charlene Cook) Bell, Tara (Kirk) Lowes and Steve Nicholson (fiancee Diane Catabelle) great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Kade Lowes; sisters, Doris Rugg of Winnipeg and Margaret Foulds of Long Beach, California and as well as other family members. John was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Evelyn; brothers, Alfred and Ernie of Long Beach and sister Rose Sidney of Kamloops, B.C. John retired from the CNR in 1979 after 38 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Meridian Lodge #140 and honorary member of Corinthian Lodge #178. His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John was known for his kindness and generosity. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Thanks to all the doctors and staff of the Peritoneal and Hemodialysis units of St. Boniface Hospital and especially for all the care given to John from the staff on 5A and B. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in his memory to the Manitoba Kidney Foundation, 200 - 55 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 1L8 or a charity of your choice.
