HIRALAL G. MEHTA November 10, 1933- November 9, 2000 Hiralal passed away peacefully at home. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife Manjula (nee Ruparell) and his loving children, Bhawna (Kirit), Priti (Paresh), Nish (Smita) and Mehul. He was the proud "papa" of four grandchildren, Shameel, Shain, Serena and Shaila who will miss his attention and love. Hirabhai will be remembered by his brothers, Suren (Chandrakala) and Pravin (Kalpana) as well as sisters, Hemlata (Chandulal) and Pushpa (Kantilal). His many nephews and nieces will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his parents Laxmiben and Girdharshai and his brother Ampit and sister Vajibgn. Hiralal was born in Uganda. He completed his education in India and joined the family businesses in East Africa. He was married in 1956 in Mwanza, Tanzania. They immigrated to Canada in 1973. Manjula and Hiralal adopted their new country and worked hard to raise their young family. They are proud of their childrens accomplishments. He was a keen sportsman, enjoyed movies and traveling. He was a faithful member of the Kinsmen Refit and the Hindu Seniors Centres. A service followed by cremation will take place on Sunday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street. Prayers will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Hindu Temple the same day. The family wishes to thank Dr. K.S. Jolly, Dr. A. Morris, staff of St. Boniface and Victoria Hospitals for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The New Hindu Temple Fund, 854 Ellice Ave., Winnipeg, Man.
