MARJORIE (PEGGY) JUNE BUCHAN
Date of Passing: Nov 11, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE (PEGGY) JUNE BUCHAN March 23, 1933 - November 11, 2000 It is with unmeasurable sorrow that the family of Peggy Buchan announce her death on November 11, 2000. She passed peacefully with her family at her bedside after a courageous nine month fight with lung cancer. Peggy attended Red River Community College, while in her forties, to obtain her nursing diploma--a goal she dearly wanted to fulfil. After graduating, she became the director of Nursing at Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts in St. James. She eventually became the Administrator only to resign and go back to her first love--nursing. She missed the interaction with the patients. Peggy was predeceased by her mother Margaret Fidler; her stepfather Frederick Fidler; her father William Sanderson and her stepmother Bertha Sanderson. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Gordon Buchan of Whytewold, Man., her eldest son Bob and daughter-in-law Tiffany with grandchildren, Lindsay, Nicholas, Zachary and Gabrielle of Cumming, Georgia; her daughter Kim and son-in-law Martin Regehr with grandchildren Kaleigh and Kristy of Winnipeg, Man., and her youngest son (her child) Richard of Winnipeg, Man., and her mother-in-law Elizabeth Buchan of Gimli, Man. Peggy is also survived by her many siblings. Her soulmate for life, her sister Joyce and brother-in-law James Hannah of Whytewold, Man. with children, James, Wendy and Terry and their spouses; her dearest brother Doug and Bev Sanderson of Quenel, B.C., with children, Sheila and Mark and spouses; her half sister Tootsie of Winnipeg, Sandy of Winnipeg, Darlene of Vancouver and half brother Bill of Winnipeg. She will be eternally missed by all who were touched by her. She was a devoted and loyal wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. It is not a coincidence that she was a nurse--she was a tireless giver and as with all nurses, she was a god given angel on this earth. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli, Man. She was cremated and a private service was held. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
