JOSEPH (JOE) A. W. McINTYRE It is with great sadness and loss that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) McIntyre after a short illness on Saturday, November 11, 2000 at his residence, at the age of 81 years. Joe was born on November 25, 1918 on Castle Avenue in Winnipeg. He grew up in Norwood, MB, and went to Tache and King George School in Norwood. He worked for Canada Packers before the Second World War and served overseas with the Twelfth Manitoba Dragoons and came home after being wounded. Joe retired after 30 years with the Federal Government in Manpower and Immigration. He was a member of the Lions Club for 15 years and The Royal Canadian Legion St. James Branch No. 4. Joe loved to garden and play pool. Besides his wife Frances of 43 years of marriage, remaining to forever cherish Joes memory are his one daughter Fran (Gino) five sons, Glen, Robert (Signy), Richard (Misty), Gary (Robbyn) and David; his little baby "Misty", his beloved pet, five grandsons and three granddaughters, Brent, Bryan, Lisa, Dale, Derrick, Evan, Tessa and Jade. As well as nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Relatives and friends may call for viewing on Thursday, November 16 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Memories, in Wojciks Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave., at Sharp Boulevard and prior to Joes Funeral Service which will be held on Friday, November 17 at 1:30 p.m., in the Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave., at Belvidere Street. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Joes memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7 or the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3M7.
