BEVERLY NISHI (nee MESSIER) April 1953 - November 2000 On November 10, after a courageous battle with cancer, Beverly Nishi (nee Messier) is resting at peace. Beverly leaves her husband Les and children, Curtis and Amanda with wonderful memories of a loving wife and mother. She is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Angell (Barry) and Brenda Love (Stuart) of Biggar, Sask; and two brothers, Bill Messier (Julie) and Robert Messier; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Collins (Jeff), Roberta Palmer (Wayne), Teresa (Louis) and brothers-in-law, Vic Nishi (Myra), and Roger Nishi of Portage la Prairie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Predeceased by her father, William Messier in 1985 and her mother, Florence Messier in 1997, father-in-law Masao Nishi in 1998 and mother-in-law, Elsie Nishi in 1999. For over 20 years, until August 1999, Beverly worked at Wawanesa Insurance where she leaves many friends and colleagues. She was an active participant in her childrens lives both with their school and extra-curricular activities and will be greatly missed. Beverly was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Parish where she attended since she was a small child. Thank you for being the best wife, mother and friend. You were always there whenever we needed you. We will always love you and we will miss you greatly. A special thank you to Dr. Salem, the staff and doctors at the Riverview Health Centre, the Oncology Department at the Health Sciences Centre and everyone who touched her life in the past year and a half. Thank you to Linda Locke for being Bevs best friend and for your support during the past months....friends like you are hard to find. Interment will take place at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15 in Brookside Cemetery. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Timothys Roman Catholic Parish, 135 John Forsyth, South St. Vital, on Wednesday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. G. Ward the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPEL 783-7211
