Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBETTY LORRAINE MILLER Peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Miss Betty Miller, age 76 years. Betty was born in Toronto, Ontario on January 4, 1924 and she grew up and received her education in the Tavisock - Stratford area. In her late teens, Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour at McKenzie Memorial Gospel Church in Stratford. This congregation provided her with the help and encouragement needed for spiritual growth and service. She spent four years training at London Bible Institute (now Tyndale College and Seminary) where she prepared for full-time Christian service. Her desire was to have a ministry to children. While in Bible School she spent several summers with the Canadian Sunday School Mission teaching Vacation Bible Schools in Northern Ontario and Manitoba. Following Bible School Betty took business training and worked with several different businesses. At that time it was her privilege to help establish the ministry of Child Evangelism in the Stratford area through training teachers and conducting Good News Clubs. In June 1954 Betty joined the Canadian Sunday School Mission full time, serving faithfully in various capacities until 1994. Over those 40 years she ministered to thousands of folk, especially children, by way of rural missionary service, Bible Camp ministry, Vacation Bible Schools, the Best Book Club and as the Manitoba Branch Office secretary. In recent years she loved serving at camps for seniors. Bettys desire was that all the honour and glory would go to God for anything accomplished during those years of service. Special thanks is given to all who supported and prayed for her over the years. The Stratford and area friends; Bethesda Church in Winnipeg, CSSM co-workers across Canada along with many other friends. Thanks, too for those who prayed, brought encouragement through cards, gifts, letters, flowers and hospital visits. May the Lord bless each of you. Thanks to Olive Carmichael for the many extra things she has done. Also thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Grace Hospital, Deer Lodge Centre and St. Boniface Hospital for their many weeks of kind and loving care over the past four years. A grave side service will be held on Saturday, November 18, at 9:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, meeting at the main gate. The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Church, 1350 Grant Avenue, Wpg. with Pastor William Ehlers officiating. If friends so desire contributions to the CSSM - Manitoba Branch or to Bethesda Church Missionary Account would be appreciated. Arrangements are by Ronald Moffit Memorial Services 856-3487
