WALTER JAMES CROCKFORD, Sr. On November 9, 2000 surrounded by his family at Concordia Hospital, Walter Crockford Sr., beloved husband of Mavies (Benstead), his wife of 34 years, passed away at the age of 65 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by Ronald (Laura) and granddaughter Genna Lee, "the apple of grandpas eye", Walter Jr. (Jennifer), Eric, Bill and Debbie Lee. He is further survived by sisters, Phyllis, Lombardy, Ont.; Margaret, Keene, Ont.; brother Fred, Shannonville, Ont., and his mother Florence, Foresters Falls, Ont., and their families, as well as in-laws, Jessie (Winnipeg), Harold (June), Jessie, George (Joan), June (Whitey), Robert (Debe) and numerous relatives and friends. Predeceased by his first wife Eleanor; his brother-in-law Raymond; brother-in-law John and father Fred. Walter operated a drill rig for Subterrean Canada Ltd. for 35 years. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway with Rose Ferries officiating. An ash interment will take place at a later date. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Winnipeg. Special thanks to Home Care workers, Mark, Chow, Maria, Alegria and nurse Rhonda. Also thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital in Emergency, Observation and 2nd floor for their loving care of my husband, from Mavies and the family.
