EVA BRAUN (HIEBERT) It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Eva Braun at Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 74 years on Sunday, November 12, 2000. Eva was born on May 2, 1926 in Altona, Manitoba and has lived in Manitoba most of her life. As a young girl, she became gainfully employed at Barbara Ellis Paper and Envelope Co. in Winnipeg and worked there for thirty some years before two major heart attacks ended her working career. She only took enough time off to give birth to her two sons, Allan and Robert. She is survived by her sons, Allan and Trudy Hiebert, children Tara and Hayley of Red Deer, Alberta and Robert Braun, Jana and Tiffany of Winnipeg; mother Mary Hiebert of Morris, Manitoba; brother Philip and Phyllis of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Marion Hiebert of Grimsby, Ontario and brother-in-law Arnold and Mary Heinrichs of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, Hans Braun in 1984, her father Philip Hiebert in 1959, twin brother Philip in 1935, infant brother Henry in 1938, sister Nettie Heinrichs in 1990, brothers, Corny (Cornelius) in 1996 and Art (Arthur) in 1999. The family wishes to give a special thank you to the Staff on the Fifth Floor of the Grace Hospital for their kindness and consideration in the care of Eva during her extended stay there. Your patience, tolerance, kindness and understanding towards her and her family was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. We also wish to thank her niece, Brenda and Otto Smale from Niverville, Manitoba for all their help and visits to Eva and her family during her illness. Your commitment to our Mom and Sister was above and beyond the call and no amount of Thank Yous can show our gratitude and appreciation. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 333 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 2W7 or to the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3J 3M7. Viewing will take place prior to commencement of service. Funeral Services are being held on Friday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. KNYSH FUNERAL HOME entrusted with the arrangements. 582-0973.
