DOROTHY ELIZABETH HARDER Peacefully on November 11, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, our precious Mother and Grandmother went to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 74 years. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her son Terry Budd; daughters, Shirley Harder and son Kyle, Beverly Riel and daughter Elizabeth; sister Dolly (Bert) Anderson; brothers, Edwin (Lila) Smith, Graham (Ada) Smith, Errol Smith, Leslie Smith of Toronto, George (Dale) Smith of Nova Scotia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight siblings. Betty spent her early years growing up in Stony Point, at an early age she came to work in Winnipeg. She spent many years in Food services, retiring in 1991, from the Nazarene Bible College, as the Manager of Food Services, where her Christian character and service influenced many as she gave an example of true discipleship. Mom served the Lord, cooking at Faith Bible Camp during the summer at Victoria Beach. She was a long time member of Grace Chapel. Mom was gifted in her sharing and helping of those in need. She was a constant source of inspiration and a mentor to many. She loved to make people laugh, through songs, yodelling, and performing many skits including a step or two. Mom loved her family dearly and was the Thomas Clan Reporter for many years and although she endured many years of hardship, her sense of humour and wittiness was evident until the end. A special thank you to her cherished grandson Kyle who was always there to be her little caregiver and phoned daily to check if Grammy needed him. Also to her special sister Dolly "Tita", a heartfelt thank you for always being there for us. If friends desire, donations may be made in Bettys memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 2B7. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grace Chapel, 19 Berrydale Ave., at St. Marys Road, Winnipeg. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., in Winnipeg. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
