HELEN (ILONA) FERENCZ (nee SEFCHIK) Mrs. Helen (Ilona) Ferencz passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home, on Saturday, November 11, 2000. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Gregory Sefchik; brothers, Kelly and Julius and nephew Brian Sefchik. She will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law, Margaret Sefchik and Mary Papp; and great-nephew Michael Sefchik; and many friends at the Wednesday afternoon gatherings, but mostly by her closest friends, Marika and Tibor Boda, who were her constant companions. Helen was born in Hungary in 1915. She was a hard working lady. In her younger years worked tirelessly for St. Elizabeth Ladies Cultural Society. For three years, she was President of the Hungarian Golden Age Club. She enjoyed life; her favourite pastimes included tending her garden, singing and dancing. Prayers will be held on Monday, November 20, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian Church, 365 Burnell St. with Rev. Fr. Paul Hanko officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeno Kosari, Les Buday, Istvan Balazs, Tibor Boda, Alex Kellemen and Les Foldes.
