KAREN ROZITIS (nee MATTES) Peacefully, at home on November 13, 2000, our beloved wife and mother went home to her Lord, following a courageous battle with cancer. Karen was born in Winnipeg on December 17, 1948, and resided in Manitoba most of her life. She married her soulmate, Guntis, in 1969 and they enjoyed a loving, caring relationship for over 31 years. Karens greatest joys in life were her husband, their children, and close friends and relatives. Her favourite place was the cottage at Ophir, where she spent many special summers entertaining family and friends. Karen was a very generous and caring person, always willing to help anyone in need. Her strength, courage, faith, and grace are an inspiration to all who knew her. Karen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Guntis, their children Mara and Davis, mother-in-law Irena Rozitis, cousins Eileen Metz, Darlene Beddington, and Wayne LEsperance, friends Marylou Marceniuk and Yvon Legal, and numerous other friends and relatives. Pallbearers will be Wayne LEsperance, Bruce LEsperance, Neil LEsperance, Allan LEsperance, Robert LEsperance, Michael Beddington, Jamie Croft, and Riley Littlewood. At this time we remember all those in the family who passed on before her and keep them in our hearts. The family would like to thank Eileen Metz and Marylou Marceniuk for their constant care and support. We also extend thanks to all who visited and prayed for Karen and to the caring staff of the Ste. Anne Palliative Care Program. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 16 at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St., with interment to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to Neil Bardal Inc.
